Log in without a password
You no longer need a password for Upcoming. Logging in and signing up now work in one step: enter your email address, we send you a code, and you're in. If you don't have an account yet, we create it along the way.
How it works
- Click Log in or Register.
- Enter your email address.
- Type in the code from the email – or just click the link in it.
Your existing password still works, of course. Under Settings → Security you can change it, remove it or set a new one.
Even faster: passkeys
Under Settings → Security you can now also set up a passkey. After that, you log in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN – without waiting for an email. The passkey is stored in your password manager, for example iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager.
Advantages
- Fast: A tap or a glance is all it takes – no code, no typing.
- Secure: A passkey can't be guessed, reused or phished on a fake site. It only works on Upcoming.
- Nothing to remember: There is no password to forget or write down.
- On all your devices: Your password manager makes the passkey available on your other devices, too.
Disadvantages
- Tied to your password manager: On someone else's device or with a different provider (e.g. mixing Apple and Google) the passkey isn't there automatically. Sometimes a QR code on your phone helps – otherwise just log in with a code.
- Not supported everywhere: Older browsers and devices can't handle passkeys yet.
- Lose the device, lose the passkey: If it isn't synced and the device gets lost, the passkey is gone too.
Don't worry: logging in with a code sent to your email always works – even if you have set up a passkey.
